I rang Mann+Hummel who own Purolator and confirmed it. I think it's possible to get a little hung up about length. LOL.

It's not just the size, it's contaminant capacity, by-pass valve pressure, flow and filtration ability that determines what a manufacturer specifies for a particular application.
If a manufacturer can use a filter that will cover multiple applications they will, just pointing out that Purolator in the US determine that the filter I mentioned is the correct one for Rover engines. (and according to the specs Purolator emailed me, I think the L25195 could be the OE spec Delphi filter re-badged)

Ryco were really good filters once upon a time.
They are no longer made in australia I belive,so one wonders if its worth paying a premium for the unknown???
Also, with some filters Ryco are much more expensive than genuine.
Mitsubishi 4D56 and Subaru filters are a good example, genuine are alot cheaper.

I lose track of time, but they closed the plant in Melbourne four or more years ago, although they still have their offices and test lab there.
GUD Ryco still have plants in NZ (Z89A's used to come from there) and Sth Africa, the rest they generally source from Asia.

and speaking of Asia, a lot of Donaldson's range (particularly to suit European and Asian applications) come from a joint venture plant in Indonesia, and I've seen Wix from Indonesia and Purolators from Korea and China.
