It certainly looks like it.... I have exactly the same on my Discovery.
Mine doesn't have air bags but I needed a cradle to mount the winch. There was no other way of doing it that I could see.

hi quick question for you , did you ever get the arb cradle for your winch >? i just bought a warn winch and cant see how to mount it to the arb bar. i must need a cradle, there are only 2 holes for the fairlead bolts to go though to only 2 of the 4 mounting feet on the winch, has any one got a pix of the arb cradle for a d1 ? im thinking of making one. bad idea ? cheers, jeff.

mine is a winch bar and i'm pretty sure I need a cradle looking at it doesn't look like enough space to safely fit a winch

There must be two sorts of ARB bars for disco. I have a 96 D1 with airbags My bar is not the same as the one in this pic. On mine it had to be hung from a cradle which bolts between chassis. My bar is not open at the top like in this pic and you cannot see the winch cable. The fairlead roller is only held in by two bolts.

My last 4x4 was a Rangie which I still have the bar off it. I went and checked and the front was identical to the one pictured here. My RR had a 10,000lb warn which would not fit in the disco so I had to go and buy a 9,000 lb. On the RR bar the roller fairlead was held on by four bolts, these bolts also the winch mounting bolts.

I would post some pics but I don't know how to.

For the people here who are confusing the air bag compatible bar and the non airbag bar here is a new thread that shows the cradle from underneath on the airbag bar.

Well, all the D1 ARB STEEL winch bars and winches I have fitted to them don't require a cradle, including SRS ones

Its been awhile since i posted this thread now. But i have since taken this bar from my 1993 Disco without SRS and put it on my 1995 ES Disco with SRS.So it does fit up to SRS Discos.Hope this helps!

There are obviously different types of bars. I took my vehicle to ARB and they told me it had to be mounted to a cradle.

I removed the winch off my RR which was bolted directly to the bar but there was no it could be fitted to my disco the same way. It was physically impossible.

Do i need to have something else to mount it on the bar? Just by looking at it i cant see where it would bolt down to.Hope someone can give me a bit more insight into it.I would really like to get it going

first pic is of the bar
    second is of the winch
third is where it is supposed to be mounted

Having had a better look at the Pic in this original post this bar is different to mine. It is the same design as my RR bar and the winch can be mounted direct to the bar.

If you look at the bar in this thread it is different(has only two holes for fairlead not four)and is the same as what is on my disco.
