MR automotive are still in chats with mal re. making the gears, they're having another next week and by then they should have a fairly good idea if they will take them on or not.

    cheers

Sorry Baz - that is a high range kit. These guys are talking about low range.

Ok well it look s like mr automotive (32846688) 99.999% will be taking on the maxi Xfer gears, at this stage same price $1650ish. so all looking for some can give warren a call.

so i just got to work out if i want the 30% for that price or 50% for a cheaper?.........

thinking the 50% may be too low (4.4, Zf auto, 3.54's and 35's)

    any thoughts?

    Does this help?
    ZF Ratio (1st at top, 4th at bottom) High range (1.003) High range (1.22) low(stock) Low(30%) Low(50%)
    2.48 8.81 10.71 29.16 37.90 43.73
    1.48 5.25 6.39 17.40 22.62 26.10
    1.00 3.55 4.32 11.76 15.28 17.63
    0.73 2.59 3.15 8.58 11.16 12.87
    All with 3.54 diffs

With a manual, the best solution would be to have no ratios which cross over (i.e. 5th low is slightly lower than 1st high), but I am not sure what is best with an auto. 50% would give you a bit of a gap between 4th low and 1st high - but that may be OK - torque converter and powerful engine should compensate.

You will be spending a lot of time in 3rd-4th low offroad - how strong are they?
