    Soot in the Inlet Manifold

    A lot of soot in the inlet manifold, what would cause this

    Over fueling, if so would the chip have something to do with it.

    Anything else, and will the provent help with this?

    The soot is directly related to the EGR system.

    Got to love a system which re-introduces stuff to the inlet of the motor dont ya

    Fit the elimination kit and be done with the grinding paste in the inlet

    Ideally the inlet manifold should be removed and cleaned thoroughly as well.

    This extra step only adds another hour to the whole EGR removal process.

    I was amazed at the amount of soot and oily residue that I removed from the manifold with my EGR change.

    It doesn't take much time and the job is complete.
