check turbo modulator valve.Sounds suspiciously like that.
Under Induction pipe, small black valve with 3 hoses I think, into it.
Look for loose or damaged connections. If not still needs checking.

Gday,
Only happened with this load of fuel (have not checked the fuel filter yet) but thought I would put this to the brain trust.
When I am driving (Cold or warmed up) I have great / usual power for about 60% of the throttle, then the engine limps, as if its not getting fuel / air / turbo stopping.
If I change gear, so the revs go down, its fine again, til I am around the same revs, and it does it again, to the point the max I can get outa 5th gear is 90ish.
Things read on searched threads.
1. Oil in ECU, fixed 2 months ago, rechecked, small amount of residual oil, recleaned, same thing.
2. Turbo hose delaminating - I currently have a dullbird silicon hoses on my rig
3. Throttle Pot is dead, not convinced as I can rev its tits off out of drive, and its fine all the way to foot flat on the ground.
4. Engine temp is the same / has not moved, still 1-2 mm low of the 1/2 mark
5. Fuel usuage is about the same, but I have only done 150 on this tank today so not sure on that.
What else can I look for before I head to a workshop ?
Wish I had a tacho so I could give / check its always at the same rev range.
Any ideas ?!
Thanks in advance!!!!!

Two words "fuel pump" I bet your fuel pump is on it's way out. Exact same thing happened to mine like at above 2500 revs it just died, what happens is when your fuel pump is just about to go it can't pump enough fuel to the engine above about 2500 revs.
Clean out the sedimenter, drain off a bit of diesel to see if you got a bad tankful.
Siphon off a jerrycan or two from the tank and fill up with something else.
Cheers
Simon
The more I read about the fuel pump the more I think its that....
I am at 198,xxx kms and its the original pump .. sigh, looks like its going to get replaced!
But will do a full oil / fuel filter and oil change just before hand incase its the fuel filter ... Xfingers!
That is a bloody good run out of a fuel pump. Don't think you can test them other than put a new one in, or by process of elimination like test everything else first. One of the first test they did on mine was put it on a airflow meter then dyned it and a number of other test and put a new fuel pump in and good as gold.
By the way my pump went at 140k so you have done well.
