    Broken shock

    Hi,
I broke the eye off a brand new Billy today
Anyone had any success welding it back together? Ithought about getting it rebuilt by Quadrant or someone but that would probably cost me only $10 less than a new shock.

The truly annoying thing about this is that I had this discussion with dave s3 at Gembrook, with me going on about how they dont break

Surely a new shock has some warranty. Why can't you take it back and ask for a replacement?

I bought them as new old stock that was lying around in a Peddars store. So they are technically out of warranty

Bummer. Might still be worth a call tomorrow to see if they feel sorry for you (if they still have any left in stock perhaps).

You would think that a statutory warranty would still apply. You have purchased new goods that havent stood up to the test, doesnt matter what their warranty conditions are.
Depends how far you want to push it.
If you purchase goods you need a reasonable expectation that you will get a minimum usage out of them.

Warranty applies from time of purchase - take them back they are under warranty unless they said at the time of sale there was no warranty.

    Technically no...

They are at a distributors shop, they are new in box and they MUST come with statutory warranty, fit for purpose, and a whole swank of other buzz words..

    Take it back....

BTW - I wouldnt be "Migging" a 120psi shock absorber
