    Pretty sure Mike...
After I got it back when the LPG was fitted it ran like a charm but 3 days later the top end collapsed and just about everythig else with it....
There was definitely no noises immediately after the gas was fitted, it was a really smooth job..
    Cheers,
    Shirl....

    Hi Phillip,
It's a bit of a dilemma because I am a Mechanic and have spent many years on earlier 3.5's and never found them to be a problem.
Years of heavy work and illness finally took me out of the game for good in about 1985, to a point where I was about as useful as an ash tray cleaner.
The problem is, I still have the diagnostics to fall back on and it's that that scares me.
The Fault really indicates that I should just drop a new engine in it and spend up big.
When you get a noise like this that happens only under load, it generally means that there is a major problem and the repairs are often more expensive than the replacement.
So far have spent $2000 and basically got nowhere.
I can turn my hearing aid off and just drive it like normal, can't hear a thing. It's great, but when someone else gets in, the first question is, "what's that noise in the engine"
    Me< what noise? I can't hear a noise......
Anyway, I will take it up to All 4X4 and let them have a listen. If they think it's as serious as I do, I will just get the boys to drop another engine in it and torch the mastercard.
    Cheers,
    Shirley.....

    Hi Phillip
More in need of an orthopaedic surgeon these days.......
Guess what, the noise is slowly abating.....
I got the dirts with the racket and tossed a can of engine Restore in it this morning and all the rattles and knocks are beginning to dissapear. Just hope it doesn't seize the mongrel.
    Cheers,
    Shirley.....

Shirley no dis-respect to All 4x4,I know some of the blokes there but I would take it to Triggs myself. They bend over backwards to help people and they, like Rumbles at Dungog where the only ones that I let touch my LR's.Both are top shelf. Pat

    Hi Pat,
I have to agree whole heartedly, Triggs are a fine crowd to deal with.
I have given Gossies the chance to make good which they have agreed so it's only fair to see what happens next but if I had my chance all over again and still had the money already spent, Triggs would definitely be the go.
    Cheers,
    Shirley......
