Disco TD5 Wastegate rod length
I've been reading with interest the posts on shortening the wastegate rod. I have done 2 turns of the locknut and adjuster. The car is driving way better now and I don't seem to be getting any overboost issues.
I have just about 12 threads now showing on the wastegate rod.
Does anyone know how many show when the rod is adjusted to fully close the wastegate with the engine off?
Also, what is the factory default number of threads showing? I have read on another forum that it is usually set at 12 for the TD5 Defender.
I'd just like to get a feel for where I am with this.
Cheers
Andy

you cant use the thread length as a set value! what if one thread was machined longer than the other?? i know for a fact that the 3 that ive looked at are different by 5mm...
get a gauge and tee it into the waste gate tube. that is accurate.
cheers phil
