the very little bit of oil will have been getting splashed around and sticking to the bits that need it as best it could.
it'll have some wear but since it hasnt already failed now that youve added oil its not just going to fail tomorrow.
the seal can be changed without dropping the tcase and takes about 2 hours to do from the time you pull out the spanners to the time your taking it for a test drive. Odds are tho that the sealing surface is damaged and it will leak again.
I bet if you keep putting good oil in it, stay on top of the level it'l llast oh 60k Km if you dont abuse it.

So we went East to Newcastle, and fitted another ZF at All4X4 spares,(Me and Bentseries working under a hoist...
)and that is when we discovered 200ml of gearoil in the transfer!!!!
