    RRC 24 spline conversion headache/migraine

    Hi guys,

    This is my first thread and hopefully someone can help me??
    over the weekend i started my 24 spline conversion in my RRC the centre went in with no troubles only 4 stud changes no dramas! but my axles from the disco wont fit? to short splines dont mesh properly only 15mm fouls my wheel bearing doesnt seem to have as much cup as my RC axles has anyone else come across this problem and have a soloution?? with only reasonable costs id like to keep food on the table for this week haha.. hope someone can help? cheers Alan

    You have to use the Disco hubs, their track is a little narrower. The same bearings etc just different offset, oops, forgot to mention the stubs as well if I remember correctly.

    Go visit Brian at Land Vehicle spares at Silverdale. They'll be able to rectify your small setback with the above bits (And, being experienced, point you in the right direction)

    Cheers fellas well I thought there would be an option 2 but no go I suppose ask experts you should listen is the rule thanks gents will do. How much track will I loose? if you know thanks again.

    I don't think you will lose any track. They are just different around the stubs. The stub axles are shorter and the hub bearings closer together. But I am reasonably sure that the actual track is the same. So you will need stub axles and the hubs. Not sure whether the bearings are different.

    While changing the hubs, this is a good time to replace the disco grease seals with oil seals.

    The oil fed conversion has already been bone and good info told me that they run my discs and bearings heres what I did to my 10 spline reversing out of my driveway was goin mud slinging but soon got cancelled LOL

    I think you meant to say that it finally gave out when reversing out your driveway. That type of breakage is typical of a diff that has seen a lot of wheel spinning.

    Not what I told the missus even more reason for an air locker soon
