thanks langy, that's the answer.
so first i have to remove the engine to swing a hammer?
first i will have to stand the defender on its tailgate, unless you have a horizontal gravity converter.
should stevo have another crack at the ky on bolts to get a result?
This stuff ought to be banned - everyone is raving about global warming and ozone depletion - and the refrigeration and air con industry is looking at the ways of eliminating leaks of both GW and ODS's
Freeze sprays is R134a which has a huge global warming potential.
Using this stuff is 'irresponsible' to say the least, and environmentaly insane.
I honestly don't know how CRC get away with it.

I would try this before getting in with the grinding gear.
aim the wifes hairdrier at the aluminium bit and the head of the bolt, let that heat soak for at least 30 minutes.
gently percuss the head of the bolt with a 4oz ball hammer then if you have one try undoing it with a rattle gun on the lowest setting.

If you can get in with a welder, welding another bolt on to the head of the stuck bolt works well.Undo whilst still hot.Weld the threaded end onto the exsisting bolt, old high tensile bolts are better than mild steel.
GOODLUCK
