pretty much same thing happend to me this morning, i stopped at a service station, did'nt lock the car but when i came back the alarm went off as i opened the door, then the key fob would'nt talk to the car, i was'nt able to lock or unlock it, alarm kept going off etc, tried the key in the lock, alarm went off again, all i could do was wait , after about 5 mins the fob and the car made up and all's been well...very weird and very annoying.
Hope you got going?
Ray
This is spooky, mine also would not disarm this morning.
This was in Melbourne. Is the military using some new kind of weapon?? Finally was able to disarm it with my wifes key fob.
Cheers,
Ken

any more ideas?
Thanks
Steve
Steve ... Did you do the .....
I think that in your "owners hand book manual" .... there is instructions on how to reset the alarm .... Something about stick key in ignition and turn key on & off a certain amount of times
This is suppose to be the manual way of talking to the alarm ... as your alarm has a general lock mode and a DEEP lock mode (I think)
If you don't have the procedure ... then maybe others have it??

Sorry MikeSteve ... Did you do the .....

the thing you are referring to i think, is done via the door key and it required a 4 digit code to unlock. i didnt have the code, but somehow managed to get the nanocom talking to the alarm computer and managed to change the code to something i can remember. apparently the keyfobs are not programmed according to a sync check via the nanocom. however if i check the keyfob codes via the nanocom they are registered.
i managed to disarm everything and then changed the trailer plug (as thats been playing up cause of corrosion) and all was ok when we dropped the boat in the water parked up locked it via the fob came back unlocked it etc etc ... was all working fine. put the boat on the drive.. unhitched it, parked the car and tried to lock it.. no go.. wasnt happy. so i have had to keylock it again.
so i am at a bit of a loss.. its almost as though something is interfering with it. its detecting all keyfob button presses but doesnt recognise them as being from programmed fobs...
any ideas? thanks for the help so far too guys
Steve
The battery power in the key is OK?? .... I know this will sound dumb .... but I remember someone posting that his keyFob was playing up around a Amcal chemist .... something to do with another frequecy in the area was interfering ..... So does this only happen at your home???
My bro has the 1999 / 2000 disco and he has had the same occasional drama
I "believe" he resolved it via that key & code bit that you know of
yep replaced with brand spanking battery.. both keys dont work so i think its an alarm issue..
the amcal chemist thing is an alarm / immobiliser issue where something in the chemists blocks them from being disarmed. it seems very similar to that! no amcals at my house tho
i'll keep playing and see if i can solve it... maybe its some solar flares playing us all up today?
Thanks
Steve
this one speaks of the same problem ....
immobiliser/alarm issue on Td5
