    Cool

To work out suitable diff ratio you need to know
    a) original ratio
    b) standard tyre size vehicle was fitted with

    Example For a D2
    a) = 3.54
    b) = 29"

    New tyre size, say 33"
    33"-29"= 4"
    4" / 29"= 0.1379 Therefore an increase of 13.79%

original diff ratio X increase %
    3.54 x 1.1379 = 4.028

Using this method you can work backward from 4.11 to see what the optimum tyre size would be
    4.11 / 3.54 = 1.161 (or 16%)

    29" X 1.161 = 33.67" (or 855mm!!!!)

Now who makes the best 4.11s?!!

I run 33"'s with 4.11 in my Auto Disco and the odometer (speedo) is out by 50 metres over a measured 5klms. so 33's and 4.11 do not return my gearing to standard, Regards Frank.

Which 33's? 255/85 (33.4) will be very close according to the calcs above, though 285/75 (32.7) will be a little further out. Your reading seems to be a long way out, as if 3.9's were fitted almost.

I'm not sure if there are any other options, but there is Ashcroft with 4.11 and there is KAM with 4.1.

The 4.11 (9/37) is typically a stronger way to setup the gears over 4.1 (10/41) as the gears are bigger. I'm pretty sure Dave (Ashcroft) has also said that his 4.11's will also allow you to maintain the rotoflex type tailshaft if you don't want to change that to a uni-uni type shaft.

I think Dave may deal direct, but 4x4Intelligence may also have/get them. I bought a spare through them and the price was good.
    Cheers
