URGENT - What does radiator cost

What would a new radiator for a '94 Defender TDI cost?

What would it cost to re-core my old one?

About $600 for a new radiator, but shop around as I have seen rip off dealers quoting over $1000. New is a bit easier than a recore as is a quick changeover and you can do in your driveway quickly. I would be inclined for new as you at least know the tansk are new then as well.
    All depends what you want.

LR dealers may discount if you ask. I got a TD5 one for $760 reduced from retail of $900+ I think.

I got quoted over $1000 for a new Mercedes radiator for my old W123 280CE from a dealer.

These guys sold me a genuine "BEHR" original fitment radiator for $295. Fitted perfectly and identical to the one that was in the car from the factory.

They shipped overnight from Syd to Adel for $18.

    Just a caveat.
I was outraged 9 years ago when the dealer who sold me my 92 RRC replaced the core under warranty with a 3 core NATRAD core.( model 940 AFAIR)
The radiator dealer swore that the core was better than the standard 4 core but I didn't believe it so I rang the engineers at NATRAD.
He looked up the core number and calculated that it had about 20% more cooling capacity than the standard, and that the tubes were much larger in the NATRAD which minimized the problem of blocking.
Now I am careful with mine and use demineralised water and change longlife coolant every two years , but 9 years on the radiator is still going strong.

I do not think there is any magic in the OEM radiator and for a marginal cooler like a Defender I would maybe be looking at Ozzie Desert Cooler or a NATRAD recore by a good shop, and using demineralised water and long life coolant.

The Four Wheel Drives catalogue quotes $2200.00 for a new Tdi radiator, but only $550.00 for a V8 and $880.00 for an Isuzu.

If its a 300tdi, they are the same radiator as a 300tdi disco. The surround is different, but that can be removed.
