Is this just blow-by from the crankcase? How bad should this get before one begins to worry? Engine has a new head. Starts on the button, nothing negative noted. I've cleaned out the PCV valve too.

In a diesel engine it’s a Depression Control Valve which is substantially different to a PCV. Anyway, installing an oil separator, aka...an oil catch can, will help greatly to keep your pipes and intercooler free of oil. The Provent 200 is by far the most popular choice - I have a Provent / Flashlube 100 which is more than adequate for a stock Td5.
