I will pull my finger out though, i promise.

I will also post up a few pics of some other interesting parts i will also be using.

On a totally unrelated topic....... does anyone know the lowest compression pistons you can get for a 4.6

    Andy

Andy, I would be sticking the pistons in a lathe and turning a little off the crown to remove some compression...Could probably get down to about 7.8:1 or so doing that...should run 12psi on LPG easily then

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    Thanks for the shots.
Good Luck With bub and the truck.

You could always slip the ObGyn a carton and get 'em to induce labour early

I spent a fair bit of time today working on the thing. I got the rear lower link mounts on the chassis reinforced, and tacked the ones on the diff. (pics to come). I also got the new drivers side slider done, out of 50x5.5mm tube.

The pic below is what i hinted on previously is going on a 4.6 ex 96 HSE.

I have a few questions though. I am getting the heads reco'ed, how much portwork do i get done while they are there? is it worth the extra to polish?

What cam specs, or where can i get advice on some?

I have never messed around with non factory ecus, so what are my options and can i go 2nd hand and get it re-tuned? what brands?

Andy, has this been body lifted! I'd never noticed that. I'd been looking at mine wondering about moving the motor into a similar location and couldn't work out how yours was done without carving the dash right up.

Nice rims! Looks more than sturdy! I recall seeing a set at TT a few years ago that were like that mounted with 44's. The centre looked to be about 10+mm thick and must have weighed a ton.
    Cheers

hi mate, bodys stock height, the engine has been lowered about 3 inches, so the bottom of the transfer is level with the bottom of the chassis.

yes the rims are heavy with the 10mm centers, but custom alloys would be a bit too much.

Heres a few pics of saturdays work.

The lower link mounts, diagonally reinforced through the chassis and fishplated on the outside of the rail (the plate with the oval hole).

The side rail, 2 inch pipe with 5.5mm wall. this should be the only bit of tube i use that isnt chrome molly. I fully welded it to the sill, firewall, and both outriggers.

Rear links are in, and it sort of looks like a car again... well it has 4 wheels anyway. The clearance under the rear center at the lowest point is 19 inches..

I have been thinking about the design of the front lower links, and the sump is in the road. Does anyone have experience with dry sumps? might be my only option. Would also be an advantage to still be able to drive laying on the side.
