What's your capability?
Fitting is easy, with a marks plate and engine mounts, you'll need a set of block huggers and a new exhaust, Retaining the VC fan is quite possible, just have to set the shroud up CORRECTLY
The Holden 5l is relatively easy, reliable and a good upgrade in comparison to a rover V8
Ask some questions and I'll see if I can help, I can run you through all this stuff by phone if you like, but not till tomorrow, My heads no good, after boozing on with the old man last night,
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
my mechanical capability is fine im not worried about that side of things at all. The electrical scares me a bit but i have people to help. I have a welder and stuff if i need to fabricate new brackets for things.
I was thinking the same thing as you Rovercare, the 5.0L is a reliable donk and over time will cost less to maintain and repair, plus on gas the running costs would be the same if not better then the diesel in terms of fuel. PM me your number and a good time to ring and i will give you a call. matt

A few of questions Rovercare, getting the engine in as i said isnt what bothers me, as you said with the adaptor plate from Marks it shouldnt be to hard, and they make the engine mounts etc to suit aswell.
Questions;
1) If they dont make the plate to fit to a diesel bell housing can i just bolt a rover V8 one to my gearbox to get around it or does that affect the clutch set up and all.
2) According to their site i can use a holden clutch and pressure plate with the holden flywheel as the spline is the same. But will the holden clutch be up to the task?
3) According to the Marks Adaptors site you need a few different things to get around the security measures fitted to the motor and the car when it was in the holden, have a look at the link i posted earlier and read what they say, this is the stuff that confuses me, the parts they are selling seem expensive and i dont understand enough about electronics to be able to know if i need it or if they are telling me i do.
4) The mention stuff about the engine requiring a small surge tank to draw from to avoid fuel starvation issues when going up steep hills etc, is this necessary.
5) I take it my diesel fuel tank will need to go, what will i put in in its place. Could i look at a LRA long range tank or something instead?

I would have thought that if you ran a tank that had the EFI pump in it that you wouldn't need to run a swirl pot.
The way they are talking about is using a regular tank that pumps fuel with a normal lift pump to fill the swirl pot and then the high pressure EFI pump from there to the engine. $120 for the swirl pot, $70 for the EFI pump and $40 for the lift pump + return hosing between the motor/pot and pot/fuel tank. Its also a common setup and would probably allow you to maintain your current fuel tank.
If the holden clutch is off that motor there shouldn't be any reason why it wont cope.
Cheers
