What is the standard boost on a 300tdi and is it possible to screw anymore boost in to it ? wouldn't mind a little more Oomph out of Elmo.

mine is running around 16psi........my boost gauge only goes to 15psi..but the dyno guys didn't touch it and also said it was at 16psi
I'm fairly sure they run 14.27 PSIand if you increase it the life of the motor will be decreased!
I heard that the best way to get more oooph outta the 300tdi is to get the pump completely overhauled. My bro was quoted about $800, but they promised 50% + increase in power, no black smoke when putting the foot down and better fuel economy. All done and tweaked on the dyno.
Cant remember who it was, but you can google it. The place that quoted him specialise in diesel engines and tuning.

Mines the same as kelvin goes to 16psi.

Thats a good price just had our injector pump rebuilt cost us $1550 plus labour but I had a few other things done as well so Iam not sure exactly what labour was.But we could not get the pump tweaked cause its under warrenty.That was also fitting a new timing belt kit that I had already.
But cannot complain they did a great job and also piece of mind knowing who done it.

When they rebuild the pump don't they do final adjustments on the vehicle? Or do they just pull it off the test bench and bolt it on?
I would think that rebuilding and reinstalling would require the final tweaks to be done on the cars = tweaked pump. Unless you are happy putting out heaps of smoke (oops unburnt fuel) for the sake of slightly faster spool up.
I haven't had any first hand experience with 300tdi's, but another option could be upgrading your intercooler. I know you can get bigger I/C's for Td5's.
The following applies to the Isuzu engine, but I'm not sure if it is the same with Tdi's or Td5's.
A bigger I/C will allow more air into the cylinders which will lower the EGT (exhaust gas temp). This will in turn allow you to turn up the fuel on the injector pump. An EGT gauge is recommended before tweaking the fuel though. This will also give you more boost, but only if you shorten the pushrod on the waste gate actuator. The actuator will be set at factory boost level of approx 15psi, so no amount of 'tweaking' will give you more boost without altering it.
