Didn't have assembly lube, just used engine oil.

It got oil pressure while still cranking, so I am not too worried about that.

I think the engine is pretty well FUBAR, I just want it to get me home. Tomorrow we set out for Coffs Harbour, I will be listening intently.

When (if) we get back to Victoria I will make an engine decision. Rebuild with standard stroke, rebuild with increased stroke or fit EFI 304 Holden engine and Getrag transission. I don't know if there is a Getrag to LT230 adaptor available.

Sure, if you are footing the bill...

Their stroker engines cost the equivalent of the GDP of a small African nation .

Then my gearbox would fail (LT77) .

You would be beta off sourcing a late D2 4L with manual box and LT230 for a re power would drop straight in and work well ....

Or wait and see how we adapt the late commy gen3 and 5spd to a LT230 for my brothers county as that looks like the way were goin with it

BJ, if it helps in the mix...

For a small sum, crank, rods and pistons from a 4.3 (3.5 stroker ex Vitesse Developments). The original block developed a liner problem.

Your block would need boring anyway...

So, if or when you want, PM.

The engine hung together long enough to get us home with no major increases in noise.

    Pierre, PM sent.

Lokka, I will be keeping an eye out for that. I already have a D2 LT230 installed.
