after all this I have had a chat with Discowhite......and I'm gunna get up the extra dollars to fit some procomp rockcrawling rims

he said they wont come out the guards but wil get me enough offset to get my steering back which is all i'm after really need to do a bit of surgery on the back guards again to get the 265/70's under but I think this is going to be the way to go..

From what I have heard the quality sunrasia style wheels have a bead of silicone (or similer) underneath the powdercoating in the gap where the rim meets the centre on the outside of the rim. This stops the moisture getting in and rusting under the powdercoat.

I had ROH steel rims on my Rodeo and they had the silicon bead you mentioned. There were cheaper ROH ones which I think didn't. Mine were 15x7.
The ROH only come in white or grey AFAIK.

Look around for the Disco steel rims. The last lot I bought (6) I paid $40ea and they were already powder coated. I don't like the colour but they won't rust too soon. They were advertised on Outerlimits.
The set before I paid $85ea (3) from a LR wrecker/mechanic as I needed them on the spot to give to the company that made my camper trailer.
Some wreckers quoted up to $130 per rim.
