I hope the guys you go with all have CB radios, just asking because these are old school now and most have uhf. if they have uhf and you have cb you can't talk to each other.

Well it seems i will have a trip to Super Cheap tomorrow i will find a bracket to suit to mount it where i want. And s for the wire i might be able to use the one out of the Range Rover if not i will just buy another one in 300mm increments.

Just so know UHF will work with any lenght wire older HF cb,s are need to be swr ed (I know thats not how its spelt) in so wire lenght then becomes an issue, I think you are talking about UHF so shouldnt have any problems

Yes it is a UHF , the end of the wire is damaged...i noticed from looking at it there appears to be two seperate wires meaning one within the other would this still hook up ok? or should i cut it back so it is a clean cut?

Yes cut it back and clean it up, center wire carries your signal outer is shield and earth for antenna. Center is normally soldered in, shield just screwed over with outside of connector might be an idea get new connector

As for cable placement i will run it straight into the grill along the front to the drive side then up to the cabin. NOW this is where i get curious is there any what i can feed it in through the fire wall at all into under the steering wheel? (as this will be more suited the the length of wire i have. If not what would be the second best option?

    Cheers James.
