    The breather is clear. It wouldn't be that easy in my world Murphy's law applies

The thing that most often makes drive line slack show up as you describe is a dragging handbrake. And one of the things that causes it to drag is oil leaking from the transfer case, although obviously not the diff.

    We now have the seal and flange. Seal is part no MR 805 or AAU3381. Can't find a number on the flange but is branded KARSONS.

    Hope they are correct for my model. The boys at the spare parts say it has latest type seal and they're all the same anyway
    Nearly due for rego so I have get it done. Once the old seal is plucked out the new must fit or It's out of action for a few days.
    I destroyed the springs on my 8x5 trailer last night so can't use my rangie as a back up either.
