    RRC or what

Further to my previous post on this subject, I inspected the RRC [88 model] today and am very impressed with the upgrade from my previous 84 model. Woodgrain on doors, factory sunroof, 3 spoke mags, good Michilin tyres, superb interior[except for rear hoodlining sagging], rear cargo cover, electric mirrors and windows, beut dash layout, and more all for .......wait for it................................................ ....

$500........................yes....$500. The owner couldnt be talked into registering it though. B...er. 4.2l motor and 4 speed ZF auto. Had to have my arm twisted a bit but I gave in and bought it. Will post piccs soon.

Bob, does it have red coloured rocker covers and no airflow meter? If so, it is a Vitesse 4.2 stroker, it'll have Motec engine management and is a VERY GOOD BUY!!!

    Well done mate!!

Sounds like a good find. It's a stoker or Vitesse? Just make sure you have receipts for the 1st rego or Blue slip and engine number is legitimate. So long as road worthy should be easy. Don't mention it has been stroked if has a 3.5 engine number.

sorry, cant really remember but I think it has the normal plain alloy rocker covers. It was raining at the time but the owner said he bought the veh at auction for his son who didnt like it. No badges or name on veh except range rover on bonnett and tailgate. Bob

How does one tell the difference between motor sizes by the engine numbers? The owner says it goes really well[ sounds REALLY s m ooooooth when idling and under power] and when diesel prices was high he used it for work and got better economy than his diesel. Time will tell. Bob

it was a great early 'fuelling only' Motec unit, fully manually adjustable and did away with the A/F meter and only ran a air temp sensor in a piece of 3" stainless pipe in place of the A/F meter. Ran off a MAPsensor and TPS also.

They are hard to get now but in all reality still a good performance substitute for Flapper and hotwire.
