Collapsed bearings in TD5 aircon / possible to bypass ?

    Hi all,

got some collapsed bearings in the compressor on the Defender td5.

We dont use the aircon, it's redundant...

Is it possible to fit a shorter belt ( maybe remove the idler below left of the aircon pulley) to do so ??

    Just a thought

    Thanks in Advance

    nat

If its like the TD5 in the D2, removing the a/c compressor might not make the original belt too long. I carry a short belt to bypass the ACE pump and can also configure it to bypass the alternator, but never tried to bypass the a/c compressor.
