From what i've seen i think dobinson and lovells are cheaper than kings![]()
I have used a 2 sets of lovells rears, one set too soft and the other too stiff.
I have got Dobinsons all round now, just right for most things.
When I do get loaded up for a trek I put the lovells back in. It takes 15min a side.
Not happy with dobinsons shocks. I would guess they are just monroes painted anyway. They are not a good match for their rear coils.

Mums- stock 92 200tdi d1.
i forgot i sold them kings to ACEi'll have another sagged set out of the ute soon, from the specs from kings they have lost 30mm front and rear! and the ute is only 1800kg, so that much sag from a 240lb spring in 2 years in my view is unacceptable
ive had lovells, les richmond, OE, kings and dobinsons, theres only 3 in that list that i havent had a problem with, dobinsons, lovells and OE.
cheers phil
I went STD 2' lift Kings, for a softer ride.
with Polly air in the rear, for when I'm loaded up.
so the Disco dosen't feel like a tank all the time.
IMO buying springs with a rated "lift" is bollocks.
You need to know the rate and length of your current springs, measure the length in use and you'll know how much weight is on them.
Do your research, measure up any new springs and see if they fit the bill.
Does it sound like hard work? Yes, but it'll save you the hundreds you'd otherwise spend on coils that don't work as you want them to.
I am running springs that are from 10-20 years old. No sag. Four are genuine, two are aftermarket (don't know the brand), but I know the length and rates of all of them.
The job for this weekend is to lower the front of my rangie, going from twin tubes to gas shocks gave me 20mm more height I didn't want or need.
Used Kings when I had a 110 about 6yrs ago. Bought them through RoverTech in Perth. Very happy with it.
After having done quite a lot of research then, I found out that Kings are even doing the OME ones.
The ones I put under my 110 had exactly the same specs as the OME ones just not that costly sticker on it....
