Windows down at all? This ones important!
And yes, if a fly/spider goes past a sensor it can set it off...
Hi all
Whilst at Coffin Bay caravan park Easter Sunday 2:45 Am approx the vehicle alarm decided it was time to wake everyone up Somewhat embarrassed Ifound the keys at turned it off. I reckon it went 8 - 10 times. Dirty looks the next day. Any ideas what would cause it to happen as it has done it since at home only at 4:00 am. Now I'm not game to lock it; can a fly send it off. At home it is in a locked shed and I don't suspect a daddy long legs in the vehicle Some help would be appreciated
Thanks
brinsley

Did you have a car fridge running??? Mine has set off the motion sensor on startup.

If you lock the car with the key in the driver's door (not the remote button) it will lock the car & activate the alarm on the doors circuit only and the engine immobiliser. The motion sensors are activated as well as doors and engine if the car is locked with the remote. As mentioned a moth will trigger the motion sensors and if there is an open window the sensor will be triggered.
I would try locking the car with the key (in the door) – if all is good there is something living in you car – tell the wife it’s a huge spider. If you still have a problem then there is an issue with battery or one of the door circuits.
PS you can lock the car with the windows cracked (or all down) if you use the key, I sometimes leave mine in the carport at home with the windows down an inch or so to allow a bit of air through.
So don't use the remote when you lock it after an alarm in the caravan pk next time

I've heard of high powered UHF radio setting one off - Not CB but AMateur gear running 100W output.

Hi There
My TD% Disco also does something simmilar.
After being locked by the remote and 20 minutes later the alarm beeps as if it has a miss lock.
If left alone all is fine, but open the vehicle after that time( after the beep) and the alarm goes off. I have to reset the alarm. ie. turn the ignition on and off again and all is fine.
Comments was that it is a faulty door lock. Possible as the rear door does not open from the inside. It will rather be an expensive experiment just to find out if it is the rear lock or not.
Cheers

Yep, I've been caught out a few times with the alarm activating whilst camping. The culprit - moths, even the tiny ones. I now turn off all interior lights when camping so moths are not attracted to the inside of the vehicle at night. I wasn't aware of the key locking method mentioned above.
