The 101 goes OK for what it is.
You can never have too much power.
There is a torque increase in the later bigger motors.
I would only go to the trouble of doing this if the 3.5 motor has to come out.
The 3.5 in standard form is tuff enough to handle the demands the 101 will place on it.
Yep......check very carefully what caused the problem in the first place.
Get a experienced motor mech to read the motor and find the fault which caused the grief
