Just a stab in the darkness here...have you replaced the fuel filter? just check all fuel related things. Blow back through the line see if there is anything blocking it. Fuel filter...

    Airleak/lock.....

Noisy pump usually results in air getting in the fuel line. D2's suffer from this AFAIR......

    Cheers

    Hi Hans,

Have you tried turning on the ignition and then waiting for 60-or-so secs until the fuel pump has stopped (don't start the engine), and then repeating until the pump stops being noisy? This will purge any air out of the fuel lines, and this is what makes the noise in the pump.

Do a search here for TD5 and purge and fuel. There are a few threads about it, in particular this one!!! : TD5 not starting (sometimes) - Fuel prob?
(I had exactly the same issue).

BTW - no need to "SHOUT" when posting. Upper and lower case makes it a lot easier to read your posts.

Maybe the fuel pressure regulator? have had similar issues with commodores in the past due to failed pressure reg, it also made it chew through fuel like mad... but thats a V8 LR thing anyway

My first bet would be an air leak in the fuel line.
