    Tuning hints for a TD5

    Hi guys.
Got a couple of real good tips from Marc at Beechboro 4X4 today in regards to getting a tad more out of your TD5.
Firstly read your injector settings with your Nanocom.
IF ALL 5 ARE THE SAME,ROCKER COVER OFF AND CHECK THE INJECTOR CODES.It is mathmatically possible,LIKE WINING LOTTO to have 5 matching injectors. He says he has never seen one yet but has seen plenty incorrectly all coded as one.
Mine has 5 matching codes, and I have lots of ongoing issues that can be caused by injectors being wrong.
If you have 5 matching injectors or ongoing performance/fuel economy issues next step if off with the rocker cover.Clean the injector tops and write down the printed codes, front cylinder is no1,thru to 5.
Now check to see if they match your ECU,if you have had issues fair chance they dont match or are mixed in order.
Re programme via Nanocom if necesary.
Test drive and see if it goes better, preferably over a couple of tanks.
NOW FOR THE ICING ON THE CAKE

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE INJECTORS ARE CODED CORRECTLY AND CHECKED PHYSICALLY FOR A MATCH ALSO.

All the injectors are coded with a final letter,in my case O.Use your Nanocom to change them to A if they are not already, this will improve power and economy.
The A code tells the ECU to release a fine mist of fuel just before the main squirt, giving a better burn.
He advised me NOT to A code mine or abuse the ECU chip power till I did the injector matching.
    ENJOY
    Andrew

    Hi Andy

Might be a stupid question - Which character is he referring to? Was told (on here) that everything in the 3rd box after the 1st character is meaningless (why they there???).

    Mine looks like this

These are my injector codes when my TRS ecu was installed.

    Harlie.
Ferals has been A coded already.
    See the last letter.
Yours could be worth trying as you have Bs and Cs.
Write down the original codes incase you wish to revert to what you have.

Ive had the rocker cover off.
Mine were ALL coded as NG NG O-M-C,with the exception of no3 wich was NG NG O-M-A.

    THEY SHOULD BE
    NNNBC
    NCLEC
    NCNCA
    LFNLC
    NNNMC

Have changed to this, about to testdrive before A coding them

Seems to me that Harlie has already asked this.
    Could someone clarify.
Codes show in Nanocom as- typically- LH NE O-M-C

Yet here you are talking of- typically- NB NG A

Are the first two letters in the third box just ignored and left as they are?

    So Andy,,

    bear with me here--

the codes will only be "wrong" after new ones have been installed?

from the factory, the codes will all be different, but also not coded A?
