Thanks for the info. What V8 is it on and what sort of Land Rover?
Cheers Charlie
I replaced my tired old Lucas electronic Dizzy and ignition Amp unit for a Scorcher Electronic Dizzy made up by Performance ignitions in Nunawading Vic.
Now it uses easy to get Bosch rotor caps and dizzy caps. It starts so much better and has more torque, more acceleration, better hill climbing on LPG than it had before. The dizzy is slightly higher when fitted so allow easier access to the retaining bolt. I am just astounded as to the extra power, smoother idle/running and the nice gurgle of the V8 has returned.
For $600 it was a major preformance boost. Before it started to drive like a 4 cyl car under load. Shows the the old Lucas Dizzy was past it's used by date.
And for the money it's not overpriced considering a new Ign amp, new genuine rotor and cap costs, as well as an overhaul of the old dizzy.
