    I'm taking spare engine oil, but my diffs have breathers so I had assumed they'd be OK. Not so?

    I'd still check them after a deep crossing to be safe. Breathers certainly reduce the possiblity of water entry but without some sort of positive pressurisation like the Unimog system, theres still a possibility water could enter through a faulty seal if the water pressure is greater than the seals capacity.

    Fair enough. We have 4 vehicles going so we'll be sharing as needed. I'll add 4 litres of diff oil to the engine oil and oil filter I'm taking.
