Yep, good prices through Amazon at that link, very good, even allowing for today's currency exchange rate.
Perhaps I should have tried there.
The initial statement claimed the purchase was at Pitstop though and at the same price as the Haynes manual, that's what had me interested.
Like I said, different strokes for different folks.

    Cheers

It would appear that you have a very good arrangement with Pitstop if you got the LR manual around the $65 mark as stated....I was chasing a manual for the D2 2000Td5 and chose the Haynes manual (99-2004) because the LR one for that period, (99-2003) code 623, is listed on their website for $225.00...and if you need the LR wiring manual, code 16451, it's an extra $202.00.
That's why I chose the Haynes. Different strokes for different folks I guess, or is there something about their site that I missed?

Good luck to you for getting it so cheap

    Cheers

Mick,it would appear that you didn't read "gibbs" post, he has a 97 TDi, so why would he want a $225 and $202 manual for a D2 TD5.
Have no arrangement with Pitstop, I just order the CORRECT manual for my needs.

Well I guess so, you were looking at the wrong manual.

Haynes Manuals are crap and always have been and always will be, money not well spent, Regards Frank.

Your point is taken as per the difference in models and manual price. Gibbs actually asked where he could get a Haynes manual and I simply advised him, I'm not "pushing" Haynes' quality or otherwise, just answered his question that's all. I tend to agree that Haynes is probably not the best source of quality info.
The important thing is, it looks like he is on track now in getting the advice he needs from various people to fix his problem and that's what his original request is all about.
I don't want to hijack his thread, he has enough to worry about with his car problem.

    Cheers

I do agree though, RAVE manuals are pretty damn good.

    Nice to have the option.
Thats why they have those plastic box thingys stuffed with paper usually next to your puta!!

Print the pages you need and gradually build your workshop file. If you kill a page, you just reprint it again.

I have the factory books, but I am using the Rave disc more and more as the books statrting to unbind and at $170 odd bucks to replace, I think the Rave disc is a better option....!
