Don`t think a heavier duty converter will change that much, maybe shift points are altered a little.
seeing as you are running standard tyres, maybe your diff ratios have been altered somewhere along the line.

Hi Stephen, sorry I should have made that clearer, in lock up the converter does not slip/generate heat. Only when out of lock up is the heat generation taking place. Regards Ian Ashcroft

Got the vehicle back but still not entirely happy with the auto box reconditioning. The sperts here in W.A. say everything is correct. Anyway, time will tell.
Crawling around under the vehicle I now find that the wires to the oil pressure sensor have been broken. Shurely to hell specialists should know how to remove a gearbox from a vehicle and what to look out for. It appears the 180 degree bends ay the top of the breathers from the auto box caught on the wires breaking them and damaging the plug. Consequently no oil pressure light!!! Certainly not happy Jack.
Anybody know where I can find another 2 pin plug complete with some wire on it so I can sort this problem out. Even if I have to join some extra wire to make the correct length.
