Having just put new hose on my 4CU injection rail, it's fiddley but do-able. Just take care with really good clips on the feed from the tank and return lines

and use a dremel to remove the last of the old tail on the injectors.

It would probably be cheaper and easier for you to bolt on a Stromberg manifold (cheap and readily available). The short comings are going to be fuel economy and that it will make the car unroadworthy .
As to what gets discarded, well everything from the manifold up.
Rangie manifold with carbs $50
Range electronic dizzy somewhere around $100
You would have to use an adjustable pressure regulator to make use of the fuel pump.
I dont know where you are located but Harveys in Sommerville have a Federal EFI SD1 in the yard, most bits are still on it.

he will be able to use the current distrbutor as the ecu only controls fuel, not ignition, it is a standalone system (well on the hotwire efi anyway)
