    Bear,
what are you gonna do when the stinkin greenies greenzone the coral sea?
go chase barras in the creeks in the "tinnie"

We are looking to get out to Osprey at the end of this year... may be our last chance

Hi Steve, I am thinking of selling the Cat either this year or next. I think you are right - it will happen eventually. The fish are worth more to the tourist industry than as a food source. I love getting out there for a couple of days and getting amongst them but the cost of doing it is getting prohibitive. Last year my boat rego fees doubled! I still have my tinny and bush freezer so will probably go back to chasing the barra and jacks. If I sell my big rig I might be able to afford to go to ET's place in NT for a week every year. Love to do that!.............Brian

    Yeah fair point.
You must rack up the fuel burn from Hay to the Swains with those outboards!
At least up here we are only 35nm from ramp to ribbons. And the ribs fish pretty good

I can sea Coral sea closures within 12 months. Political points will be scored and deals done in an election year. And operators (Swains x 5, Nomad Charters, Boof up in Seisia + numerous marlin boats off Cairns/ Cookie, Lizard + all the pros) will all go bust? And the Indo fishers will hammer the waters even more so once eyes on the water are not out there. Unless Navy / Patrol / Reefwatch increase their workload out wide (never gonna happen) I can see more pressure from illegal fishing and fish stock losses once the charters and pros are locked out. Oh well the greens will be smug and happy.
