OK so at 15000 klms all is good.
I have virtually tried every setting I can think of and have settled on the following two setups.
Around town i run a bit of LPG which works out at 3ltrs per hundred and 11ltrs of diesel. not an economical set up but i like the bit of extra power and the smoothness of the motor it produces. It makes town driving just that much nicer.
Open road. Well i don’t have the lpg turned on all the time. Long flat roads where i would achieve the best economy i don’t use the lpg. I tend to conserve the LPG for when i need power. Hills etc. Since trips out of town tend to require more than one tank full of fuel and that LPG is not always available. i tend to conserve the LPG for when its needed or when using higher reves or need to use the fuel reve range.
I have had 3 oil tests done, all good one had a bit more diesel in it but that was when i was running a lot of fuel 18ltrs per 100.
conclusions on a NA 3.9 with fumigation.
You can not achieve the same amount of power with pump tweaks alone as with fumigation. Even with high fueling fumigation will show some benefits in both power and smoothness.
With the fueling turned down fumigation has a greater effect.
There seems to be little benefit in upping the fumigation, it is a small benefit for a much larger consumption.
An afternoon 550 klm sprint home, fully loaded with LPG on from Inness NP to Adelaide saw us easily sitting on the speed limit” plus” when over taking. 2 + 11 Ltrs per 100
and no melted pistons
What were you doing to use 18l per 100Km?
