Sounds like a problem mine had at first, If you floor it in neutral does it actually hit 3200 RPM?, then, with a load surges at 2800 and wont pull.

Some of the 4BD1's were set at 2800. But still should pull OK there under. Mines turboed and I find the best torque when heavy towing between 1200 and 2200. (And it really holds on) I have to down shift the LT 85 from fifth or the 4BD1T would strip fifth gear. I can peak it to 3200 but well out of it torque curve. In effect, I can go up hills faster in fifth gear.

i have to keep my foot flat to the floor to keep at 100km. when i hit a slight

the screws with lock nuts on the top that the throttle arm hit set the idle speed and the maximum Governed RPMS.

the one that the arm rests on without any throttle applied is the Idle, I suggest setting this to about 800RPM to prolong the life of your gearbox input bearings. the other is your max RPMS I advise setting this for not more than 3800 RPM but the motor should be safe all the way to 4500RPM. (be warned if you go to this setting you have no overspeed safety margin)

when setting these I find its usually easier to set high and then wind them out to the desired setting before locking them off. Dont forget to use a light loctite or to paint the threads after.
