Lokka, the image showing the interior tells it all, red knob on Hi-Lo lever, Yellow knob for Hi range 4wd, cheers Dennis![]()
Was the 5 speed mated up the series transfer ? and the gear shift looks like a LT95 id love to have a look underneath and also at the gear shift![]()

Dennis that was why i had to ask if it was as i seen the 2 levers tho looks like they are not in original position
It was isuzu gb mated to series transfer. 1st gear was a crawler gear, he just sets off in 2nd. Reverse gear was top left, directly above 1st (bottom left).
Someone like you could most likely take part of an LT95 cover, that contains the gear lever ball joint and weld it to the Isuzu gearbox cover with the selector rails.
See the pics of the conversion in Ancient Mariner's thread on the MXA5. where he welded an adapter to the cover.
It would depend on getting the box far enough back to put the LT95 stick in a suitable position.
If I hadn't thrown out my Land Rover junk that included LT95 parts, I would do this to my Isuzu box.
Edit: these are the relevant pics; in the 1st you can see the 3 Isuzu selector rails in the neutral position, and how the notches line up. The finger of the gear stick needs to protrude into these notches, so that when you move the stick left it engages the Rev -1st rail, centre engages 2nd-3rd rail, right engages 4th-5th rail.
In this pic, where A.M. welded this plate, is where the part of the LT95 top cover would weld/bolt on.

John me and you must think alike as this idea has been playing in my head since i seen these pics AM posted and yep i also thought of the LT95 shift assy to modify and make do.
I seen a isuzu 5 speed on ebay a month or 2 back which had a gear shifter mounted in this very plate it was not long after AM posted his pics and i thought FMD why didnt they make more shifters like that as it was the only one i have ever seen and the guy wanted big money for the box tho it wasent a MSA but the top plate looked exact to the MAS with the 2 lever set up
BTW if your after any LT95 bits or other rover junk let me know i have plenty of stuff here i can send your way free of charge![]()
Chris, sorry I wasn't thinking (a touch of old timers) the problem with that idea is that in the Isuzu box, the rev-1st shift rail is on the left, and 4th-5th shift rail is on the right.
So the gear shift knob would be reversed.
I've been able to put some time into my truck lately and have a few parts coming. Will make a start soon on my shifter idea, different to my last post. I did a mock-up sometime last year.
My County is now listed in the for sale section. I'm downsizing everything to free up some cash with an impending rugrat due to appear before the year is out. While the county would make a great baby hauler, the missus isn't that fond of driving it...
