Time to shift the EGT probe.
It's really easy, the wall of the cast manifold is thick enough to drill and tap directly.

Chief, man there is something wrong with your set up, my turbo set up eats chipped td5's and that was running 15 psi and no intercooler, and that is off the mark as well it hauls arse man. Now intercooled I run 17psi in the mornings but drops a pound when the day heats up.

Ditto, I can max out at 145km/h which is about terminal velocity for a Tdi and a Td5 Defender, and I can get there quicker. Especially up hill. Intercooled, TB25, 15psi, 4spd 1:1 gearing and 33's. Max upstream EGT's at this level of abuse is 540.

What gearing/ tyres are you running????

Dougal that is exactly wat I was gunna ask about wall thickness the manifold is so looks like next project.
It pulls hard ill give it that but it just doesnt hav the sit back in the seat feeling like the tdi's !
It blows no smoke once boost is about 3psi but anything below that in a heigher gear say 3rd just puttering along (no tacho as of yet vdo tacho ready to go in when I get a sender for it , were is the best spot to hook the tacho up on a isuzu?) And I put foot flat black smoke belows out due to lesser boost I asume!

I am not sure on turbo sizes but on here it has already been said that the td5 turbo is small for the 4bd1, so maybe yes it works but not as good as the set ups like mine, JC and dougles and others with similar set ups. Yes you are producing 14 psi but how much volume of air is getting into the cylinders what are your restrictions have you changed your exhaust system to at least 2.5inch if not you would have massive back pressure. how big is your cross over pipe where are you reading your boost pressure

Reason y I used the td5 one is because I got given a new one. Exhaust is 3" mandrel straight out the bottom of the turbo. And boost guage is sitting at the intake manifold! Restrictions is a huge front mount the size of the radiator

The TD5 turbo (GT2052) is similar size to the T25 I used to run, but being a far more modern turbo should be able to flow more and produce cooler air.

I'm not worried about that being the bottleneck at this stage. Later on possibly but 15psi with no intercooler should be within it's range.
