    Isuzu Turbo Manifold

    Gday Guys

Im looking for a isuzu turbo manifold and a rebuild kit for my turbo .

Biggest Q is do i make my own manifold from pipe and flanges or do i pay the $380 i was quoted for a new one .

Im considering building my own manifold and dump pipe so i can mount the turbo were i want it so i can run the exhauxt on the inside of the rails and the dump pipe down behind the alt .

Any advice or pics would be help full as for the turbo it is a garret unit and is a standard 4bd1T turbo tho i cant find any match on the numbers of its ID tag which reads SF0173J then it has 8943829000 followed by 466898-3 the prob here is i cant match up the numbers to any garret listings which makes it hard to find the rebuild kit for it .

The factory manifold seems well designed and should flow well. Most importantly, it places the turbo very close to the ports.

Btw - my manifold was only $320.

Ring Don Kyatt and other generic truck spares places to see if they can beat the ISUZU price.

Soltoggio Bros truck wreckers in Perth have a few "parts" 4BD1s - with manifolds last time I saw them.

Well after a few phone calls ive now found this

    84-87 manifold p/n 8941192926 $278 new
This is the early non water cooled turbo manifold

    88 on manifold p/n 8943662470 $360 new
This is the same as the one pictured above and im told is for
the water cooled turbo used in the later trucks .

The one I have has a Garrett T3 bolt pattern. The other will have an IHI bolt pattern.

There should be a few other variants as well - e.g. there is one dougal has with a downward facing exit.

Im prety sure dougal's has been cut and welded to get the downward faceing flange .
