The R12 condensor in my rangie is like the one you describe, but the R134a condensors in my jap work car and shopping trolley are single pass with a tubular tank on either end.Quote:

It may be worth double checking this, I have one of these and there is a clearly visible plug in the header tubes to pass refrigerant back and forth, through fewer tubes at each pass. Still better than a R12 one though.Quote:

This may or may not help, but maybe try and talk to some of the L67 guys (Holden Commodore Supercharged V6 + USA vehicles) they have been running w2a setups for a while. I'm currently running a MACE Engineering w2a in my supercharged commodore with about 15psi. It's a very basic heat exchange which works great, but will have to grab the brand on the pump. I've listed a few websites that explain and may help about intercoolers and pumps.

I relise these are a different engine and differernt scenario, but the information on heat exchanges and pumps should be helpful. I will list some more as I remember then.
Gotta remember, that unlike a petrol, a diesel is on boost ALOT of the time, so really need to overdo the WTA setup, mine is rated for 800HP on a petrol engine
True, I can understand the demand these engine have compared to a petrol engine are alot greater right off the mark. I will say though I am impressed with the heat it does take out of the supercharged air on my setup.
Also has anyone thought about a combination of both a2a and w2a? It might be overkill but was just interested/wondering.

I was given a verry simple and effective system its a small car ally rad with about 30mm outlets and the WTA intercooler all i need is the hoses and a pump it also come with a wiring harness and presure switch in the I/C plenium to switch the pump on .
My plan is to mount the rad on the underside of the RHS fender as far foward as possable and fit a air scoop at the front of the guard and to fit a shroud on the underside with a thermo fan to also help draw air at slow speeds .
Its all a pipe dream at the moment as im still colecting bits but it should not be long now before i start to play with it i now have a turbo and manifold set up to try and with some of the great tech info ive read from this section i think i may well be on a winner i hope :D

As far as I'm concerned hp ratings on intercoolers are BS. There are two main questions:
Can it pass the airflow you need without a serious restriction yes/no?
Can it cool enough for the boost pressures you intend to run yes/no?
There's another important question too: Can it keep water out of your intake? I still need to pressure-test my one.

Some Mitsubishi Magna had a free stending water pump. Availably cheaply on the aftermarket. Don't go near a Mitsu dealer though. Rig up a belt drive off the crankshaft pulley.
