Thread: Upgrade Stage 1 4BD1 to 4BD1-T specs?

I believe the engines used by Land rover were just early truck motors as I've spent quite a bit of time searching through truck wreckers, the only external differences between the two are the oil filter housing and flywheel housing.
Same waterpump,right hand engine mount,inlet and exhaust manifolds,etc...

Which model does this one come off?



And this one? (Or is it the same as the one above)



I have also seen images of turbos mounted to the side of the manifold and another below.

Which one fits a Defender best, and what is the part number or ISUZU model do they come off?

And yes I did search "turbo manifold" which is where I found the images I posted. But I didn't seem to find that thread.

Addit: I've read that thread and while I can see a package with an Isuzu manifold with parts sticker and also different part numbers for late water cooled and early non water cooled turbos, I still have no idea which manifold points where?

Am I correct thinking that Ben's manifold, is the same manifold used by JC, except JC has rotated his turbo 180 degrees, so it now protrudes to the side instead of above the manifold?

Yea, same as my 2 also, sourced originally from turboglide, but Ben found genuine numbers from Isuzu and are a fair whach cheaper, which is where I bought my second also
