    Intercoolers, they do work!!!

Just a bit of trivial info.

    Scenario
    4BD1T, 15psi boost, 450 x 450 top mount intercooler heavily fuelled

Towing the camper on a motorway the RRC runs at 88-95 deg water temp.
Spiking to 105 when getting up it up a long hill.

On our way to Coffs for a weekends 4wding it tore the side out of the intercooler, so we bypassed it with a piece of 3" alloy tube.

On the way home the water temp sat on 100-105 deg, spiking to 110-115+ when on long up hill runs.

So yes intercoolers (no matter of size or fitment) do actually work.

Not that I doubted it but intersting to know how much of a differance it makes

How about EGT's with/without but running the same tune?

I'd also be interested in egt s as am heavily fueled and have all the bits ready for a WTA front mount setup.

I remember seeing your setup years ago. Was your intercooler like an STI one with about a 40mm core?

I will try and check EGT's with or without, but the R380 has a very loud 1st motion shaft bearing (MSA on the way)

The intercooler was a 450 x 450 x 76 roughly. Have thought about WTA but its just another pump that could **** itself.
