There are a lot of threads on the subject, particularly useful is the information on Grubbs MSA gearbox conversion as it specifies many of the differences in the two types.
A benefit of using a truck 4BD1-T will be that the engine is designed to run with a turbo and will have the oil squirters for the pistons. However it won't have the flywheel housing/adapter to mate with the LT95 gearbox. The truck donk will also most likely be 24V and may not have the power steering pump facility.
A Land Rover 4BD1 will have all the bits in the right place to mate the LT95 and the Land Rover chassis. It will also be 12V. It won't have the oil squirters and most likely won't have all the fittings for the turbo, particularly the cooling and oil lines. You will also have to change your clutch pressure plate and friction plate.
Has your chassis engine mounts been modified for the Ford V8?
