I know that, I also have the msa, I meant he doesn't use first because of the ratio, which is useable in the lt85

Not sure what suffix transfer is in my county however the only problems it has had in 400k is it likes to pop out of diff lock now and then but that may be to do with the linkages and rubbish surrounding it and also when separating it from the lt85 I found a few brass chips the size of match head in the oil around the input gear

Im looking for help and info on fitting the R380 from a disco with the 1.2;1 transfer up to my isuzu

Im also looking at rebuilding the the R380 before hand with stuff from ashcroft

Whats needed to mate the box up do i use the bell housing from isuzu to LT85 or can i use either the TDI or V8 bell and adapt it to the isuzu flywheel housing ? as for input shafts they would all be the same lenghth am i right ?

Any advice would be great or offerings of bellhousing to make it work

Sorry for the thread hi jack but i thought its along the same lines as what im after

Apparently an LT85 bellhousing is used, bolt holes welded up and re-drilled to suit the R380.

That's as much as I know.

I had this done. I went from LT85 -> R380. KLR did it on their jig, I think MR do it as well. C H T has also done it, as have a few others. He has a lot of KM on his, I have about 60k km and it is quiet and tight.

I used a disco V8 R380 and swapped over the shifters. I think the output shaft matched, but I swapped out the input on the LT230 at the same time so I cant be sure. It would take a lot of work to make a TDi bell housing fit an Isuzu... I'd stick with an Isuzu LT85 one.

Initally I ran the original 1:1 transfer, but found it all too tall. 100km/h was just above idle, so I went for a 1:2 which I'm still using. First is great, but I wouldn't mind a few less revs at highway speeds, especially once the turbo is done.

Can I buy your Lt85 shift mechanism when you're done ?

IIRC the input shafts are different spline and length, between diesel and V8 R380's.

There is the proven KLR route, but where there is a will, there is a way, when it comes to cutting and shutting alloy bell housings.
