    Turbo rebuild kit ????

I've had this turbo sitting around. I put oil in the center housing to keep it wet, but the oil leaked into the two turbine housings so I presume it will need a rebuild kit, I expected that anyway as I bought it at a swapmeet.
I was told it came off a Saab.
It doesn't have any numbers that I'm familiar with, can anyone tell me anything about it from the ID tag. Also, it has .42 stamped in the compressor and .63 in the exhaust.

Where's the best place to get a rebuild kit and how do I know which kit to get.

    Thanks for any info.

    Cheers, Murray

EBay kits seem fine. Have you tried the Turbo technics website, should be able to find those part numbers on there

First I'd just run it. Turbo seals are labyrinth type and do leak oil when they aren't working.

I have had excellent results with ebay T2/T25/t28 rebuild kits. I'd expect the same from a T3 kit.

    Thanks guys,
It sounds like it might be worth just wacking it on ( if I ever get the time to fit it to something ) The shaft feels good so I'll give it a go when I get the chance.

    Cheers, Murray.

If it leaks oil is there a chance it will run away? Or does it need a lot of oil for that?

It takes a lot of oil to fuel a 4BD1T.
