    Weeping head gasket

After getting home from a trip (Mt Isa to Townsville and back again) I noticed oil on the left side of the engine. As it was hatd to tell where it was coming from, I gave it a good degrease. Checked it again two days later and found it to be weeping from the head.

Anyone had this happen before? Engine was rebuilt over a year ago.

Asking a couple of people they said to torque it again. Would I just torque it to the highest setting (87 ft lb for used bolts I think?) Would I also torque turn?

    Any help would be great.

    Will post pictures later

    Bugger.

You sure its not migrating from somewhere on the RH side - maybe inlet manifold?

Yeah, and I also have the diff pulled out for a rebuild cause the bearings are failing (which I don't mind, just means I'll throw a locker in there )

    Oil leak

Yep I have the exact same leak . Couple of years ago did the head gasket. Re fitted with ARP studs etc and a few monthe later the leak started. I have just put up with it. Car is now over seas for a while but still runs perfectly. One day I'll get around to solving the problem.

Did you use a geuine head gasket on your rebuild. We used all genuine Isuzu .?????????

Yeah genuine head gasket. In saying that it had been sitting round in a truck for a fair few years.

Once im able enough, ill check the torque of the head bolts and then if its still leaks maybe pull the head off and replace gasket. Then look into getting the head decked (wasnt done at rebuild, as it was very straight, block was decked though). Would probably upgrade to arp studs to.
