Just get a 2.2 puma, they will tow 2.5tons up a hill at 100km/hr Plus they come with other fun stuff like electric windows and cd players you can hear and 6 gears to play with

P.S. I'm just kidding guys! couldn't help myself.
But the puma doesn't have the same loveable idle noise Nick and you don't need 6 gears

It's always fun to poke a hornets nest

My puma would SUCK if i took the turbo off.... gee i'd be better taking the engine off the turbo. LOL! haha

Bearman... your probably right. The old series seems to get along ok with only 4... although it's just downright scary at 100. on that note.... you should see my new project!!!

It is less work than you think. Plus, there are plenty of us driving round with Turbos and LT85s without problems.

I screwed my fuel screw out 1 1/2 turns. I know its a bit much and I have to go back in a bit, but I turned it out over 1 turn before it made ANY smoke flat out on hills.
It has made a big difference. Hills that I was in 3rd at 70ks I now go over at 90 in 4th (LT85).
Towing a 500kg trailer puts my speed back to where it was.
After reading this thread I think I might order a turbo today....and put on a shelf with all the other things I need to do.

Really? Suppose keeping it in 4th would mean it would hardly put any strain on the box when cruising , so should last a long time??

You're exactly right debruiser - It is the mighty unstoppable answer to land rovering. Just every now and again it prefers to take it easy. However, it will always be unstoppable!
