And? he said he was pulling the overdrive? overdrives don't like having an engine turn them in general, they are pretty weak

At 2000 rpm on the engine, through the LT95 in top with .996 final drive = 1,992 RPM to the driveshafts. Running 3.54 diffs would give 562.7 RPM at the wheels. With 36" tyres (255/100/16) that would give me 287cm per revolution of the tyre, so around the 97KPH give or take...? That sounds about spot on if I've done my maths right?
And it will still feel it could do with another gear

    even on 900/16s?

edit: just read the rest of replies. I guess that is the consensus. I just would have thought that putting 36 inch tyres on a stage one would have it under done. I was thinking more like 4.1s?

I had 4.11 in my rangie from when it had supercharged 3.9 I put in....I drove it after Isuzu for about 200kms, it was terrible on the engine governor at 120km.....I swapped crown wheel and pinions to 3.54 quick smart, mine was army early and governed at 3200rpm

That was my first thought too, but when you work out the numbers, just over 2000 RPM at 100 KPH sounds right for a big, torquey, low revving diesel.

Still don't know what sort of torque I'll be looking at, but I assume that would all be available down low in the rev range.

Awesome. Don't think I need the 101 to go quite that hard.. But it certainly does show what they are capable of.

You mentioned you were running 35's on those vids - what gearing from the LT95 and what diffs - what you were talking about - .996 and 3.5's?

Correct, its all in my replies prior and as stated, it could of done with another gear, id be suggesting you want ratio's very low in the 101 to keep noise down

Yep. We know that one quite well.
Personally, I'd want to drop one of these in.

    We've seen one with a Td5.

Just a thought, my Stage 1 100" originally had the Isuzu 3.9 in. Mine, like others, has developed cracks in the front panels. This was a common problem of these vehicles caused by the vibration of the Isuzu.
Would you think you would get similar issues putting a 4 cyl Isuzu in a 101?
