    Real world egt temps. Post your temps

    Hey guys just a thread for a bit of a comparison between the different setups in real world use.

    I'll start it off

    Car
    80s rrc
    4bd1t truck spec
    Factory ihi turbo running over the rocker cover
    Lt95
    31 inch tyres
    Egt probe is pre turbo

    Idle I see 400.f
    100km flat ground 800.f
    100 up the biggest hill I can find wot increases gradually and won't go past 1300.f

    Do these figures sound about right? I am wanting to upgrade to the klr manifold and possibly even intercooler.

    Whats this degF rubbish

    Rough figures from mine (pre-turbo EGT):
    Ex stage1 NA engine with T25G turbo and no I/C
    Idle < 160C
    100k cruise 400-500C (hard to get steady state and zero wind)
    Can hit 750C under sustained climb while towing, but I usually back off at ~700C
    Max boost is 15psi.

    Not sure what you mean by "upgrade" to KLR manifold. Whats wrong with the factory manifold you have now?

    My temps pretty much the same as Steve's on all accounts. Only difference is that my turbo is Gt2260 with WTA intercooler, max 30psi boost.
    Cheers,
    Andrew.

    And you're running LOTS more fuel than I am (and getting lots more power).
    Is the max fuel screw on yours still an in-cab decoration?

    good numbers, you have about 1/3 of a turn on the fuel screw up your sleeve before you hit danger numbers, the intercooler helps more than the manifold for EGT the manifold helps with boost wind on (a little)

    fit the intercooler then adjust the pump fuel screw till you hit the same 1300 again and you wont kill your engine from overfuelling or leave it as is if you re happy with the current performance.

    idle is around 150, 100kmh 350/400. A sustained hill 500/550. I hit 650 once towing up a long hill.

    22psi max. Plazmaman W2A and a 3" high flow exhaust. About a third of a turn on the screw.

    I assume everyone is measuring pre turbo? Mine is after turbo so lower, I'm generally seeing 100C less than those mentioned here which fits with the post turbo measurement.

    depending on your drop across the turbo at boost 100 is about right depending on how far down the pipe you go...

    to get a rough idea, take it for a drive, warm it up and then let it idle till your post egt temps first stabalise, measure the manifold temp with a IR thermometer and then measure at the temp probe, that will give you a rough comparison thats accurate up until the waste gate opens.

    Just drove to Melbourne and back and took note of egt. outside air temp was 30 deg, long Flat sections, bugger all wind, speed checked with gps.

    Sitting on 100kph
    Boost = 13psi
    Egt = 380deg

    Sitting on 110kph
    Boost = 20psi
    Egt = 450deg
